How you’ll study

A plan for the week, lessons, practice and the review that brings back your mistakes. Here’s each one in the app.

No more study schedule spreadsheets

Set your test date and study hours. Your plan spreads all four sections across the months ahead and moves when you miss a day.

  • A short list for each study day
  • Sciences, behavior and CARS, one concept at a time
  • Miss a day and the work moves, without piling up

7,000+ MCAT practice questions

All four sections, each question with a worked explanation.

  • 250+ CARS passages with full question sets
  • Chem/Phys, Bio/Biochem and Psych/Soc questions
  • Timed practice you can pause

Missed questions come back until they stick

See your accuracy and time after every set, then review each miss with its explanation.

  • Retry the exact questions you missed
  • Note why you missed one and what to change
  • Build a custom set from past misses

MCAT Chemical and Physical FoundationsSample
In the catalytic mechanism of a serine protease, a histidine side chain removes a proton from the hydroxyl group of a serine side chain. What is the primary effect of this proton transfer?
Choose an answer to check it.
Answer and explanation

The correct answer is B. Removal of the proton produces a negatively charged serine oxygen with greater electron density. This oxygen is therefore a stronger nucleophile and can attack the electrophilic carbonyl carbon of the substrate.

Before you start MCAT prep

Which MCAT sections are included?

All four: Chemical and Physical Foundations, CARS, Biological and Biochemical Foundations, and Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations. Every MCAT plan includes all of them.

How does CARS practice work?

CARS lessons cover comprehension and reasoning within and beyond the text. Read a passage, answer its questions, then work through the explanation for each one. Start your trial to practice CARS passage sets, or explore free science and behavior questions in the practice library.

How can I track my MCAT progress?

Follow your Score Estimate for each of the four sections and your Strength by concept. Both update with your practice, helping you choose where to focus next.

Can I study GRE and MCAT with one account?

Yes. One StudyPattern account holds both exams, each with its own free trial and plan.
