GRE Quantitative ReasoningSample
At a warehouse, each of 23 cartons contains either 7 lamps or 11 lamps. The cartons contain 197 lamps in all. How many cartons contain 11 lamps?
Choose an answer to check it.
Answer and explanation

The correct answer is A. Let x be the number of cartons that contain 11 lamps. Then 23 - x cartons contain 7 lamps. Since there are 197 lamps in all, 11x + 7(23 - x) = 197. Simplifying gives 11x + 161 - 7x = 197, so 4x = 36 and x = 9. Therefore, 9 cartons contain 11 lamps.

Trials, practice, and what the numbers mean.

How is this different from free study material?

Free videos and question banks are everywhere; deciding what to do with them is the hard part. StudyPattern decides the next step for you on a guided Study Path, keeps each session short, and brings back what you missed.

Do I need to take a Diagnostic first?

No. Start with the first concept on your Study Path. GRE and MCAT also offer an optional Diagnostic for a starting picture.

What does my Score Estimate mean?

GRE and MCAT answers to new questions become a Score Estimate for each section. SAT progress shows lesson progress, practice accuracy and topic Strength.

Can I try it before creating an account?

Yes. Every question in the practice library is free, with its answer and explanation, and you can try a real lesson excerpt for GRE and MCAT. Create an account to save progress and follow your Study Path.

How do trials and prices work?

SAT is free forever, with no credit card or paid upgrade. GRE and MCAT each have a free trial, then monthly access or a prepaid pass. See Pricing for the current plans.
